My P1P take ages when downloading .3mf file, any suggestion? Any other have this problem?
Hi! For some context, how long is it taking and what is the file size?
Hi, like 30 min. for 2MB. I think it’s a cloud problem because my network is working fine.
It’s definitely a cloud problem - quite a few people are reporting this issue now. Bambu most probably just don’t have the bandwidth to cope with all the prints being sent to, and then downloaded from, their servers.
Yes, my 7.2mb file took 38 minutes to download to the printer. And SD printing is not an option because it wont work with AMS.
@rocky.chen
@BambuLab Same here (Germany). We really need a “Send to printer’s SD card” function for the P1P, please.
or make an option to enable use of the lan (avoiding the bottleneck cloud altogether…)
Every option would be a huge improvement. The current workflow reminds me of the first few days with my Ender 3 constantly running back and forth and fiddling around with a Micro SD card…
I think this is the downside of buying a printer of a (really innovative, btw) startup company where nearly every piece of software is in a 1 point something stage. I am looking forward to future improvements.
There are a few potential issues here.
One being the speed of the cloud infrastructure (which as it’s no doubt the same as the X1 series is not too bad), the second being the speed of the WiFi on the printer (not fabulous), the third being the reliability of the WiFi on the printer (can be pretty mediocre on ESP32s), and the fourth being the unzipping and uncompressing of the 3MF file that has to happen on the printer. The ESP32 which runs the P1P is not very fast…
From what I understand an antenna may be added to the ESP32s. I have done this for other projects but I am sure like all of you are hesitant to touch the printer until a replacement MB can be purchased.
