I can’t seem to find out what this means, could someone describe
this for me? Thanks
It’s humidity level in the AMS. 3 is getting up there.
I don’t know the mapping to actual relative humidity levels, though, but someone who has aftermarket hygrometers in their AMS might be able to say.
Thank you for the answer, I didn’t know it had that built in.
mine is reading 3 at or around 30ish.
If all they did was lose a digit that makes it easy - 1 = 10%, etc.
I had an AMS just tick over to 3 and if that’s 30, time to change for me. As humidity in the AMS climbs above the humidity I’m drying to (19%), it turns the AMS into a humidifier for filament and reverses the effort put into drying it.
@JonRaymond (or anyone) - do you know if that is the AMS humidity translation where 1 = 10%, etc?
I agree. I just have top stop printing long enough to change it out and put what’s in there in the dryer. Honestly just been a little lazy.
I’ve got four AMS units and the droplet for each seems to correspond to the hydrometer leading digit. Not sure if BL made it that way but it’s close. One gauge was reading 19% and the droplet read “2”. I’d say that’s pretty close. It’s close enough to think about changing your desiccant when the droplet reads “4”.
I’ll be damned.
Did just change mine when it was at 3 and 30 something %
It’s slowly going down and it’s in the 20’s now, drop reads 2.
Think you may be on to something.
Just a reminder; If you’re using the Dry Pods in the AMS, don’t put desiccant in the one with the meter. Or else the meter will simply read the humidity of the desiccant–Typically 10% or the lowest the gauge is capable of reading.
I’m thinking of printing more of the regular Dry Pods and eliminating the gauge all together. That would allow more desiccant in the AMS. Now that BL has changed to the Droplet, it’s an easier visual to check the status. That silly thermometer thingy that changed colors was hard to read.
Before I added desiccant to my AMS, and dried the filament, mine was showing 4. Still had reasonable print quality. But quality has gone up since drying filament and adding desiccant. Droplet is showing 1.
My storage bins with dried filament and desiccant show 16%
I used to house a hygrometer in my AMS. As soon as I saw the droplet on the interface I stopped bothering with it! I don’t even use the color changing descant anymore. I know when it needs to be refreshed based on the AMS monitor.
Does anyone know where the built-in hygrometer is located in the AMS?
I’m pretty sure it’s on the AMS main board.
Well maybe you’re not on to something.
Showing around 20-21% and Studio says 1. 2 seprate Hydrometers known good.
Either way it’s all good. Don’t know if I even care about it. Would free up the meters for other use.
I do have a hydrometer in my ams and it is reading 32% Either way I will be keeping my eye on this thing as I don’t print more than maybe once a week right now.
