I just did a small batch last night. I use organza bags, think party favours for weddings and such, super light, kinda silver fabric. In no way heat resistant! Last night I found one sitting out with no idea where it came from. The beads were quite dark. I emptied them out onto a stoneware plate just big enough to form as much of a single layer as I could be bother to get. 2 three minute cycles at power 3 made them quite hot. When they are hot, they stick to your fingers with a burning sensation! I left them to cool enough that I could handle them, at which point they had turned orange again.
Be aware that they are super bouncy and roll like the dickens. Maybe do this over a cookie sheet if the SO is fussy about hard little spheres everywhere in the kitchen. I printed this funnel for the printed desiccant holders a while ago, to be honest, I don’t remember using it. I do use one of these to get it back in the bottle it came in.
