Does tha AMS unit act as drying unit for filament or do you need something like the Sunlu Filadryer s4. I live in Florida where humidity in summer is very high and dont know enough about this to make informed dedcesion. Thanks for any help.
No, the AMS is not a dryer. That being said I think I saw where people have modified them. I bought a dryer.
The AMS cannot dry filament, you’d need a heated dryer like the Sunlu you mentioned for that. While it can’t dry filament, the AMS can keep it dry by acting as a dry box. You just need to keep dry desiccant loaded into it. There are two locations under where you place the filament that opens up and you can add desiccant packs into.
Now personally I’m not a huge fan of that configuration and printed new desiccant holders from Makerworld and added a hygrometer that I can see through the front so I can see the status of the humidity.
