Drying refills?

Is it possible to dry the refills whilst not on a spool. Or will the plastic straps not fair well.
I can’t seem to find any information about if these can go in the blast oven/dehydrator/ build chamber by themselves.

Fairly certan the platic will constrict and simply snap or melt. Not really worth having to respool to find out. I’d leave it sealed until needed, although sometimes that’s as bad as opening. I have 2 refills that air got into.

You’d probably want to try to avoid the filament touching the heated surfaces directly. You could put a thick cardboard between the filament and the heat bed/dehydrator rollers/baking tray or grid. But no guarantuee that this will prevent binding. The filament needs to stay below softening temp.

Hi,
I never noticed any info regarding the cable ties material, yet typical ones are made of PA66, and advertised by manufacturers are limited to 65ºC. If that is the case, it is adequate for a few materials, such as PLA.
In any case, I second @EnoTheThracian’s recommendation, and if you don’t have a spool, it is better to keep it close, as @johnfcooley suggests. Even if it works, the benefit/risk is not worth it.
