E1 Air Purifier

I love the Handy integration and design of the new air purifier and would love to buy it but…

The price on the filters?! I would not mind the price as much but they also recommend replacing the enhanced $70 filter every 15 days if you print often?! Thats $1680 a year in filters! I really hope they lower the price or do a bulk pack sale on them. If that does not happen I look forward to AliExpress decent quality knock offs.

Anyone know the diameter of the hose for the E1 and E1 Pro?

FYI, I found an answer on Bambu AI. Although it says the hose is 2mm larger than the interface, so that’s interesting.

The diameter specifications for the E1 (H2D) Smoke Purifier ventilation components are as follows:

  • Smoke Ventilation Pipe (Hose): 102 mm diameter
  • Smoke Purifier Ventilation Pipe Interface: 100 mm diameter
  • Ventilation Pipe Adapter: 90–100 mm diameter

You need to add context. It’s not just “often” with regular filament, it’s 24/7 ABS printing in their example.

Replaceable filters are such a scam. Partially because it’s tricky to quantify usage/efficiency effects over time. In many cases a good vacuum will extend the life. Washable is where it’s at though.

E1 Purifier Enhanced Filter:

  • For high-frequency engineering filament printing (taking ABS as an example, with continuous use 24 hours a day), it is recommended to replace the filter every 15 days.
  • For low-frequency use (less than 6 hours a day), the replacement interval can be extended appropriately, but should not exceed 1 month.

Uh, so if used 24 h/day then it’s good for 360 hours, but if used less frequently then only for 180 hours? Does some volatile ingredient expire after a month? (I doubt it!)

Never mind that it’s the actual trapped particle count that matters, not “usage time.”
If it was so smart it could measure input PPM as well as output, and flow speed to judge efficiency (cloggage).

It’s definitely sexy looking, I’ll give it that.
