Educate me on plates

I’m a 3D printing newbie here… I know just enough to get myself into trouble, so hoping to further my education. I see that Bambu has multiple kinds of bed plates. What are the differences in the types of plates? Are there some that are better for certain filaments vs. others? Should I be looking at specific plates for specific tasks?

Looking in the store I see these different types of plates:

  • Dual-Sided Textured PEI Plate
  • High Temperature Plate (PEI)
  • Cool Plate
  • Multi-Temperature Plate

Help me unconfuse myself.

yes good question what about the engineering plate where do you get it and what is it

e.g. here Recommendations for printing on the Engineering Plate | Bambu Lab Wiki

and likewise

yes these how to use are easy to find but where do you get an engineering plate

The engineering plate is on the flip side of the cool plate.
Not entirely sure if it’s referencing the build sheet or the actual plate itself.

… and part of the delivery with the printer

engeneer plate is the plate itself , it is a coating on the plate
the cool sheet is a sticker , can be removed to reveal a other engeneer plate

so plate do mean the steel thing , you got only 2 kind of plates
the engeneer plate and the Textured PEI Plate

all others are stickers/sheets like cool sheet , high temp sheet ( smooth pei sheet )

…and info re the eng.plate can be found in the wiki as well
Guess good chance to read it

that is the best explanation so far i had read the manual but not the introduction thank you for that much wiser now
