I looked into the P1S and its cool but personally the things I need to print are not really suitable for a build plate of that size, I also need to print high temp material like PPS-GF, which needs a nozzle temp of 320 and active chamber heating of around 65C for the best results.
But these as just my needs, I am sure it is a good machine for many, to each is own
Why not? My Plus4’s and Max 3’s all have Active Chamber of 65C heating and reach nozzle temps of 350. The Build plates are also massive and I can get 2 for the price of 1 X1C…
1000x better for things that 99% of the hobby market doesn’t need? I get if that is important to you but it clearly isn’t important to the general market.
The X1C and Qidi 4+ are different printers designed for different needs, not like a Kia and a BMW. I would say it’s more like an M5 vs an S Class. Although yeah it’s not 1000x better and that’s a ridiculous thing to say.
Bambu support isn’t really that great. Also out of my 3 machines, only 1 is running strong. Both of my AMS’s are breaking and it’s just been a world of problems.
My Qidi’s haven’t stopped printing ever since I unboxed them and never even needed to reach out to support because the printer is rock solid.
As someone who owns multiple printers, Bambu doesn’t do anything any better than Qidi and what they do offer, they charge an arm and a leg for.
They are not bad machines, just overpriced in my opinion. They are like the apple of 3d printers and thats not a compliment.
Like I said, everyone is differenet and will have different needs. My opinions represent my print farm and nothing more.
Qidi doesn’t even have multicolor “yet”. I run my P1S 12+ hours a day and it works without issue, I’ve never had any major issues with either of my AMS units. Even if you do have issues, you can buy almost any part of Bambu’s website.
The X1C costs double the price of the qidi but you get half the machine and not much added luxury. I will give you the AMS but the QIDI Box is weeks away and will cost less than 100 bucks from what I hear.
PS
The base M5 Performance and the S-Class are around the same price lol,
I haven’t read a single review that didn’t sound exactly the same as every other review, which all sound suspiciously like the press release. They aren’t adding anything new, so copying everyone else’s specs from two years ago should be half the price.
The X1C is the S Class. It has a better user experience but the specs are not as good, while the Plus 4 has better Specs and performance but not as good of a user experience.
Also, as a Plus4 owner, I gotta disagree about the experience being bad and Bambu’s somehow being better. In my case, that just simply is not true.
The best experience for me is one where I don’t need to contact support, Out of 5 devices from Bambu, 3 are malfunctioning. 8 OUT OF 8 Qidi devices are working flawlessly.
2 Ams units are faiiling with bad HAL units and my Lidar camera failed in 1 of theX1C’s and the toolhead destroyed itself pretty bad to the point where the interface board needs to be replaced.
I’m legally blind, currently undergoing hand theropy and Bambu has been 0 help. Machine is a few weeks old.
My plus 4 is also my favorite. Alot of people will never know because echo chambers and conspiracy theory brain. I barely even have to clean the bed. Thing has never had a failed print or even a warped one. Just prints like microwave heats. Next time someone argues, challenge them to see who can print a 300x300 non cf nylon box faster. lol
Most of these arguments remind me of, if 10 years ago me was arguing with today me.
From my personal experience and from what ive seen of others, is people start out by printing mostly toys and decorative stuff. Over time, it gets boring, you realize the actual filament cost and your house fills up with stuff you have to dust off. After this, people either start at etsy shop, make models for others or end up using 3d printers as tools for other hobbies/projects. I guess a super tiny portion of people also end up using the machines themselves as the hobby. I would probably fit in this group and the tool user group.
Soon, Bambu will have a printer or app for all of those groups. All theyre missing is a larger printer to use as a tool. Then, hopefully they can branch out more to other stuff like resins and scanners
