I am so sorry, I did not realise I am not the only sight impaired person on the site, in future I will use a much wider pen to mark the spot. Thanks for the assistance from other members to clear this up.
I don’t know if you’re trying to be snarky or funny, but your response comes across as almost as rude as your first reply.
Let me be clear—if I wasn’t already when I politely pointed it out—your original post was very unclear. When asked for clarification, your response to a fellow member’s polite inquiry was downright obnoxious.
You posted a poor-quality photo that provided no useful information. What was impossible to interpret was what you were thinking. You left no notations to explain yourself, and when not one but two of us asked you to elaborate, you doubled down with attitude. If that wasn’t your intent, you have the opportunity to clarify rather than throwing out insults about people’s eyesight. Or perhaps your handle an indication of your personality?
Noted thank you for your feedback. I have a lot to say in reply to your post above, however I believe this will just be turned into a greater feud and become messie. Best we move along and enjoy learning and chatting with one another, enjoy our hobby in a space that is about 3D printing with similar minded people. Live and let live.
I will never trust Qidi. I got the iFast right when it came out. I found out that if you printed a full bed of objects the print would go to ■■■■ and they would all get messed up. If you printed one it was fine. Turned out, the support bar that the print head moved back and forth on was deflecting from the heat. With the full bed of parts, it stayed near the hot bed long enough to deflect upwards, completely changing the nozzle offset. They finally were able to replicate the results and they ended up redesigning the whole assembly to add a bar for reinforcement. This was a production unit and not some sort of pre-order or beta. I don’t know how they never printed more than a few objects in their testing of the machine. The bed was only 80 C so nothing crazy high either. I can’t trust a company again that cuts corners like that.
Welcome to the community.
Thanks for sharing this insight. This sort of thing is very helpful. A hell of a lot better than the paid-for-YouTube-Shills.
On that subject. It’s not corner cutting to the Chinese it’s “Chabuduo” (差不多) or “close enough” in Chinese business culture.
That happens to alot of printers. You have to heat soak before bed level(wait until chamber temps level off.). They sell titanium backers for some printers. You can also get around it by keeping the chamber cool. The plus 4 heats the bed slowly, allowing other parts in the printer to also warm up before the bed level, to prevent this.
Uncle Jessie is great, but he’s also probably the most sponsored by elegoo than any other creator. He’s like their brand ambassador isn’t he?
Reminds me of the STLFlix CEO starting their ads with “Do you wanna know why I love STLFlix?”
also, Olias up above had some pretty valid concerns about this printer, definitely worth reading that post (too long to quote here)
I want it to succeed but also if you’re copying someone’s homework from years ago you’d better improve on it in some way.
and lastly, about the AUS Pricing being a scam and not worth it over a P1S for me.
Well, great or not, given how heavily he’s into Elegoo I find you can’t really trust what he’s got to say. Given his involvement with Elegoo I believe he should shy from review content. That way he can bang the drum all day.
I don’t see his replies. Decided to throw an insult my way, negates anything he has to say as far as I’m concerned. Not appreciative of being called a fanboy because I use common sense and logic over emotion.
I saw Auroras review and another preview today on the machine. It’s clearly not for me but at the current price I think you could do worse. What I see is the main problem is the price. There have to be many corners cut to churn out a core xy that’s any good for $300. I am willing to bet you never see that AMS until the next version of this printer.
I believe, in technical parlance, that’s called a ‘shill.’ In street language, it’s something less polite—starting with a capital ‘W’—that refers to someone who trades certain favors for money.
yeah that’s what I was getting at (poorly)
I’ll probably cop some hate for this, but her reviews make me want to copy the specifications page into chatgpt and ask it to read it out loud. I feel she adds nothing to them and is kind sterile…
If the Aus pricing was even close to conversion rate, I’d consider getting one as a FAFO purchase. Couple that with the overwhelmingly positive youtuber response toward their free printer, I’m just gonna wait it out.
Hmm… Wonder?!?.. Neh…
…What could it be? … hmm… very difficult choice…
…but i get it… it’s a hard life for Uncle Jessie being one and lacking inspiration (and still taking their money)…which is why i want to provide him with some bright new ideas in the latest magazine release
after all, every one of these should know when to stay and when (where) to go…
The correct approach is called discernment. Uncle Jessie’s rant to 3d print manufacturers was pretty much spot on, but I don’t trust his reviews. Actually - I don’t trust ANY content creator reviewing printer they got for free. Hell, if you gave me a printer for free and told me “here, review this printer, you can totally say whatever’s on your mind regarding it, the deadline for the video is in 6 weeks time” I wouldn’t trust myself on it!
No grief from me. However I think this is why I pay more attention to her reviews. They can be colored but they’re all the same. Each machine goes through the same prints etc. Still can be colored but there’s still some valid info.
Exactly. When it’s not a new machine I enjoy his content most times. I’m older and he’s a bit too animated for my liking at times, but he’s not a bad guy.
Honestly, nor would I. It’s an undertaking I wouldn’t really be interested in.
I just form my opinion of a machine from everyone here expressing their thoughts on the machine after they’ve watched all the various review videos and hashed out the who’s who of trusted reviewers.
Who am I kidding… I don’t really care what someone else has to say about something, it’s totally based off that intro price!
QIDI are the real contenders , the PLUS 4 is 1000x better than the X1C at half the price. Build quality, build size and overall quality of the Plus4 make the X1C a questionable purchase.
I’ve literally dumped Bambu and haven’t looked back. Giving my 3 X1C’s to my 5 and 6 year old kids
Good for you buddy. On my side I’m not really ready to throw away my X1C…yet… I’m planning to keep it running at least until all my spares are used… But also, I’m not allowing Bambu to dictate how I’m using my printer …
Well I am giving it to my kiddos, not throwing them away but Bambu is not a welcome name in my farm because of reliability issues.
Since DEC I have purchased 8 Qidi Plus 4’s, 3 AnyCubic Kobra 3 Max’s, 2 Qidi Max 3’s and 3 X1C’s,
Bought a Veho 1000-16 but its defective , so its going back. Gonna replace it with the Elagoo Giga!
No shortage of plates here, also not being spied on is a nice feature.
P1S exists… And it is compatible with AMS.
