End of filament diameter wider after print

Hi there,

I’ve the PS1 for a few months now and pretty much had no issues. I recently bought some PLA-CF to try and also bought the hardened nozzle and extruder gear at same time. After swapping out the nozzle and gear I started facing issues after printing when the filament was trying to be retracted. Basically the end has completely changed. Previously it would be perfectly square. Now it’s got a slight bulge and sometimes means it won’t properly retract. I’ve now swapped back to the original gear and stainless steel nozzle but still have same issue!

See attached photo for what the filament looks like.

Any ideas?

Ich denke du solltest mal den Filamentabschneider prüfen ich denken die Klinge ist stumpf.

I think you should check the filament cutter I think the blade is blunt.

Hmm, I will give it a try. Seems odd it started after changing gear. Could it be I’ve tighted tension screw differently?

Incorrect filament cutter installation while changing extruder gear?

To change the extruder, you had to loosen and retighten the cutter lever. Check that as @Garfield recommended. The filament end from your pic clearly shows that it is not being cut anymore.

Wow yes! I’ve had that in and out several times and never realised I wasn’t inserting it in the slot correctly.

Problem solved thank you!
