Hello everyone, I was wondering how it is possible to enter the contest if I have published the model before it started?

According to the contest rules as they are now you are not allowed to enter an older model in to a contest.
There are numerous people who act this way, and MakerWorld doesn’t even notice. Recently, someone even won a competition with such a model. The fourth-place winner in the Model Cars Design Contest had uploaded their model long before the competition, then deleted it and re-uploaded it for the competition. Makerworld still allowed it and even let them win.
Delete and re-upload the model I understand, but this model was uploaded on 9/8/2024 and the Halloween contest didn’t start until 9/10/2024
I think you’re close enough to not worry about it.
It’s obviously close enough to the start of the competition. I could have entered a model from the 9th, others have also entered models from the 9th. So models from 2 days earlier are still authorised.
However, if a model that is older is simply deleted and re-uploaded, you could report it. Makerworld should be able to track this.
Hi Tommy, which specific model are you referring to?
This is really bad behavior — deleting old models and re-uploading them just to enter a new contest. I think @MakerWorld should discourage this practice. For example, if an old model earned X points and you delete it, X points should be subtracted from your total. If you’ve already spent those points, your balance should go negative.
Thank you. We will thoroughly look into the matter. If it’s confirmed that he deleted and re-uploaded an older model to participate in the contest, we will revoke his status as one of the winners.
If that happens, will another model take its place in the winners’ circle?
Well this turned into a show…
