A small piece of filament snapped off when loading. I was able to remove the filament spool from the AMS, but I can’t load any new filament. I get the 0700 8006 error. I suspect there is a small piece of filament stuck where the PTFE tube meets and enters the Tool Head.
I am going to try and heat the Tool Head and use an unclog tool to, hopefully, push the clogged filament through. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
There is a clear section between the ptfe tube and the hotend. Sometimes a small broken off piece gets turned sideways in there. That’s what happened to me. No amount of heating will get it to move.
You have to remove the extruder. Then two screws hold the clear part to the extruder. Take them out and it should slide out. There is a filament runout sensor in there also. Be careful not to bend it or damage the pcb.
Here is the update - With the help of this awesome community, the Wiki, and a little YouTube, I took the tool head apart, removed the extruder, and found the offending clog. I removed it and put everything back (hopefully) correctly. The problem now is I am getting the following two recurring error messages:
“The Tool Head cover is off” [which it isn’t]
“The filament cutter handle has not released. The handle or blade may be stuck.”
The cutter looks fine to me. I am not sure if I should tighten it or loosen it. Any ideas? Thanks! -Steven
You might need to check the connectors on the toolhead cover. It could be slightly pulled apart and not making good connection.
I would also remove the filament cutter and make sure it is fully seated in the lever. That one screw is hard to mess with. Some users have stripped it out trying to remove it.
Thanks, Barry. I’ve reseated the connectors several times. I suppose it’s possible I damaged them during the process. They are very small and difficult to put back in place with my big, fat fingers. I opened a support ticket and uploaded the printer logs to Bambu. Perhaps they will have some options as well. Unfortunately, my beautiful new printer is a big brick right now.
