eSun spool compatibility with AMS Lite

Hey everyone, I might have made a mistake ordering some eSun filament
from amazon, for use with my A1 mini and AMS lite.

Does anyone know if the eSun spools will fit on the AMS lite? If not, i’ll have to
return them when they arrive. Checked amazon, but the listing doesn’t give the
specs on the spools. This is what I ordered.

eSUN Fast Printing Speedy PLA Filament 1.75mm,
3D Printer Filament High Speed PLA for Fast Printing,
1KG Spool (2.2 LBS)

Also just noticed I ordered 2 spools of 3DHojor, and it also doesn’t give the
mounting hole diameter. I can see this is gonna be an issue when ordered.

3DHojor Matte PLA Filament 1.75mm Light Blue,
PLA 3D Printer Filament,
1kg Spool (2.2lbs)

Any help would be appreciated, if someone know if these will or will not work
with the AMS lite.

thanks.

Winston

I haven’t personally used eSUN yet, but I found another discussion that answers this, I can’t add links but it’s called “Unofficial Filament Spool/AMS Compatibility”. Also, there are adapters available that you can print and add to your spool to shrink the hole to be compatible with the AMS.

Thanks for the response, I also saw a thread about AMS compatibility, but what I found was for the AMS, not the AMS Lite that works with the A1 mini printer, which is what I have.

Also, I have some ANYCUBIC spools that have a larger hole than the
AMS lite, and I have printed adapters, which make them work just fine. But I think the Esun and 3DHojor spools might be too small, which means they will NOT work with the AMS lite.

I will know tomorrow I guess when the eSun spools arrive, and I think the 3DHojor filament will arrive Friday.

It sucks that most manufacturers of filament do NOT print the mm specs of
their spools.

I have used both eSun & 3DHojor with the AMS Lite, they fit…also both plastic & cardboard eSun spools.

Thanks. I did get one roll of eSun filament in late today on the cardboard spool, Giving it the eyeball test it looks like the diameter of the roll is the
same size as a test spool I have that will NOT fit on the AMS lite. However,
when measuring it, and actually trying to load it, you are correct, it DOES in fact fit and work on the AMS Lite unit.

Thanks so much for the info, much appreciated. I was worried I would have to return 8 spools of filament.

Hi Winman42 did you have any issues printing with the Esun filament.
Did you have to manually change any of the settings, temp etc.
Thanks.

Hi, I’ve not had any issues with the Esun at all , maybe 1 or 2 wonky prints that I cancelled and started over. I’ve not changed any settings at all on my A1 mini. I think the issues may have been the plate and after wiping it down with alcohol , the subsequent prints were fine.

Go to maker world and print adapter for the generic spools
