Excessive Purge New Print

*BAMBU A1
*ISSUE HAPPENS WITH STOCK FILAMENT & PRINTER PROFILES

Recently I’ve been having a issue with the printer purging a excessive amount of filament when starting a new print…

By excessive I mean it’ll Purge filament for 30 seconds or more sometimes

I don’t remember it happening when I first got the printer. But initially I was just using PLA filament though. Normally I usually use either PETG or TPU, and with both of these filaments I have the purging issue.

I thought it may have something to do with some of the settings that I had changed in the profiles, but even when using the default filament & printer profiles I have the same issue.

I’m not sure if it would be helpful if I attached some type of LOGS or G-Code…

If I export the G-Code I noticed in the starting section there are a ton of “flush” lines.

Here is a WeTransfer link to the G-Code file. It will not allow me to attach it here on the Forum and if I try to insert the starting g code in a code block for some reason it puts it all on one line it’s not formatted correctly…

It purges the old filament out of the hotend.
Then it purges again to get the flow rate.
It makes a purge line & calibrates the flow rate again…
then the print starts.

Yes I understand the starting procedure of the Bambu Labs printer…

When it does that initial purging it will literally Purge filament for at least 30 seconds straight and forms a humongous blob of filament.

There is no way this is normal. As I mentioned, when I originally started using the printer granted with PLA and not PETG or TPU, it only purged 1/10 or less then what it purges now…

Don’t know what to say…I’ve had my A1 Mini a year & it’s always done this.

After updating my machines to the latest firmware I’ve also noticed excessive purging creating large blobs but only on my A1 Mini

i find the A1 mini purges more than it should in my view .

IMO this should be optional. There literally should be an “ALWAYS ASK” setting. In case of “DON’T” the printer should only be allowed to purge for 3 seconds max. I’ve never seen a filament not primed within such a long time.

after new fillament is added and old fillament is purged ( around 1 min ) before it starts printing a new project ( i timed it ) it purges again for 3 mins 27 seconds
thats a lot of wasted filament . i have the A1 mini ( a month old )

Thank you for posting this question, were you able to resolve the problem? I started experiencing this same issue yesterday and after checking all of my settings, and testing the an old, reliable print file I still have the same issue and cannot pinpoint the cause.
