Question about the Exclusive model program: I have read through the wiki, and the thread and the only requirement stated is I have to have 100 downloads of a model on my account. I have a model that have over 100 downloads itself but says it’s “ineligible” could that be because it’s a remix?
100 prints, not 100 downloads, but also no Remixes. You should read the rules and guidelines carefully: MakerWorld Exclusive Model Guideline | Bambu Lab Wiki
Nowhere does it say no remixes. the only place is even mentions them is
“Simple models like a remix of an articulated dragon model, or a simple phone case with no standout features are more likely not to be welcomed in the program.”
Either way not a huge deal just curious why some models could be enrolled and some could not.
Ownership : Retain ownership of your original creations . Upload your Exclusive Models using Standard Digital File License.
Standard Digital File License bars remixes
*Without permission.
Also has nothing to do with not allowing remixes to be exclusive. If a model is remixed, that doesn’t make the original a remix therefor doesn’t restrict it’s eligibility to be exclusive.
Any remixes would (I imagine) need to remain only on Makerworld though, and as such should also be uploaded with standard licenses. Nothing prevents this, the users simply need permission from the original creator with the stipulation that any remix can only be uploaded to Makerworld for as long as the original remains exclusive. A remix obviously can’t be set to exclusive though.
@Talon They’ve said no remixes but AFAIK only in a reply post here on the forums. Also Kit’s correct in that it is 100 prints (total for your whole account btw) and not 100 downloads.
Partly it is based on an error, ambiguity, interpretation. On the other hand, CC licences were allowed to be included in the programme without further enquiry. It was simply made into a different licence. Then it was possible. You are still improving it.
