Hey all, just went to upload this one and it’s saying my model is 2D and might not be eligible for exclusive (pictured below)
Now I know it’s not, and I’m confident I’m doing the right thing, But I don’t know if I wan’t to risk getting an autoban and going through the hassle of appealing.
I mean, technically the image is 2d. You should do one of those split color images. I’ve got 3d glasses! Red and Green. They want 3d, then give 'em 3d in every way possible.
I have coasters that are created in 3D an am currently going through an appeal as it was flagged as 2D and all my points were removed. So I would be weary.
I understand that most coasters are 2D but mine was created within a CAD program having extruded parts to help capture moisture.
For what it’s worth, I noticed my hex bit holder keychain was also auto-flagged as 2d.
Since yours was flagged as well I suspect it has to do with use of the word ‘keychain’ in the model name.
My 3D coasters were also flagged and later removed as a violation to the exclusive program. All points I had gained were removed and put me thousands in the hole on both normal and exclusive points. It took me weeks to get this reviewed and they did reinstate my normal points but it was a major hassle. Even after supplying the original STL with dimensions that clearly show its a 3D model they still denied it being in the exclusive program due to it being labeled as a “coaster”. I think you are correct, it can definitely get flagged due to the label. If you get the warning I would be very wary of just pushing it through anyway.
I actually never refunded my exclusive points as I needed more filament but now am currently sitting at a negative 2000+ in exclusive points. Just so we are clear what is at risk… If you made 12 normal points for say a boost + 3 for it being in the exclusive you will get deducted the full 15 when they flag for violation. After refuting the violation you should eventually get the 12 points back in normal points but the exclusive will still be a -15 even if you never redeemed as exclusive.
Whilst not originally stated as unwanted, the Exclusive program did add coasters and keyrings to a growing list of undesirable models that will not be allowed in under any circumstances.
They do state if you created them using somethings that is demonstrably not 2D and unique you may create a ticket, but, that bar is so high, anything in the coaster category is almost certain to fail, even if you believe yours is unique.
Yeah you may be right and they did actually refund my points just way overboard on the exclusive point so that will take awhile to regain. I am spending almost all my points on filament currently so not really concerned about it.
I’ve noticed that tags such as “keychain”, “bookmark”, and “coaster” auto-flag some of my models with the same warning, even though they are very much not 2D.
