I have ordered my first Bambu P2S, and now I’m thinking that I should have added the extended warranty. being a newbie, I think it might be good insurance. My grandson just purchased the P1S, and was able to get a 4 year warranty.
Can anyone tell me how I can add the extended warranty, to my already existing order?
Warranty terms are country-specific, so it matters which Bambu Store the purchase was made through.
If your grandson believes they purchased a four-year warranty, it almost certainly was not from Bambu. Bambu does not offer extended warranties on the P1S sold in the US or Canada, and in the EU the manufacturer warranty is typically 24 months in certain countries. If other regions differ, I was not able to find official confirmation.
What is more likely is that a third-party product insurance plan was purchased and presented as a warranty. A common provider in that space is Asurion. These are not manufacturer warranties, and the fine print matters. Many allow prorated payouts, require return shipping at the customer’s expense, or substitute a credit toward a different device rather than repairing or replacing the original product. I have experienced this firsthand with a phone claim.
Separately, Bambu does publish software support timelines. On the US store page for the P1S, Bambu states guaranteed bugfixes and feature updates only until July 13, 2028, with security patches extending to July 13, 2030. That is an explicit end-of-feature-support date, even if it is not labeled as end of life.
Notably, Bambu only specifies software update support and is silent on hardware support timelines. While no formal linkage is stated, software support limits are often a practical indicator of how long a platform will be actively maintained.
Given that, any extended coverage beyond the manufacturer warranty period should be examined very carefully, especially when it is third-party insurance rather than a Bambu-backed warranty.
I got 1-Year Extended Warranty option on my EU order, which will apply after the regular will expire (24 Months) so I will get 3 Years.
So far I can remember, this opption (if offered) must be added uponce order. Separate later order was not permited. And it covers only the printer, not the AMS.
Edit:
Unfortunately there is no Extended Warranty for US:
