I would like to extend the emergency stop button cable of the H2D. Does anyone know if it’s possible to get an extension for this type of cable? Otherwise, I was thinking of cutting the cable in two and simply extending it with a 5-wire cable, some soldering, and heat shrink tubing. Does that sound risky to you?
I think it actually has to be in the correct location on the chassis. I tried moving it and got errors. Must have some sort of sensor.
That’s a shame. The left side would have been such a better place. I could have put the right side of the printer close to the wall. To the left side, there is already the spool holder so puting the stop button on this side wouldn’t have us lost any space.

I don’t own the laser model, but it features a hall sensor positioned on the lower right side, indicating there’s a magnet built into the stop button. You could either relocate the stop button and attach a magnet to the right side to trigger the sensor, then route the stop switch wire to the left side though the wire may be too short unless extended. Alternatively, you could install a second switch on the left side wired in series with the stop button.
Good suggestion, thank you. I will see what I can do with magnets.
