I’m still working to figure it out but might as well ask… does anyone know why Studio is putting supports on the outside of a completely vertical surface? As seen here:
There are no geometry errors here. If I use normal supports, the slicer does not generate any in these areas. Threshold Angle has no effect. Ignore Small Overhangs has no effect.
That is indeed odd but not the first time I’ve seen it happen on vertical surfaces. In fact, I sometimes find that the support algorithm is so wonky sometimes that I find myself using the “exclude” feature more than the include.
One question though. Just as a test. Have you tried to alter the angle of the model just a smidge? I found that sometimes a difference of a few pixels will often change the way supports are painted which is why I say the algorithm is wonky.

I have seen some stl files do this also do you have a step version to test out ?
Maybe also try right clicking on the part and selecting ( fix model ) sometimes auto repair will not pick it up during the slicing but it only works with microsoft windows os.
