I have 5 printers, 3 P1S’s and 2 X1’s and theyre all downloading so extremely slowly and then timing out at like 80%.
I’ve checked all my internal network and all is fine. The upload to the cloud works fine but the download to the printer takes over an hour only to fail.
This needs to be fixed. Mods can this please be looked into.
I’m not alone then. After slicing, it takes very long time to upload and very long time to download to the printer. I’d say 60% of time it gets cancelled (timed out).
I also notice there is a new update for printer. I’m not sure if that’s related to this issue.
Update: found out my router’s 2.4GHz met end of it’s life. It was sending very faint signal that printer had trouble keeping up the connection. Changed router fixed the issue. Check yours. Maybe reboot router.
You are right, no excuse, what have you learned about your personal bottle necks in your system using 2.4GHz, and no I mean the computer/device not the printer
Had same issues, swapped to a mobile hotspot which had a slower internet connection where I was but the router connection between my phone and the printer was much stronger, downloaded the print file no problem.
Hi, this just started with me as well, all was printing fine when all of a sudden I get “There was a problem downloading a file. Please check your network connection and resend the printing job.” I have done speedtests no issues experienced. I have rebooted my Macbook, my router and my printer.
I’m now getting the same “There was a problem downloading a file. Please check your network connection and resend the printing job.” message when I try to send a print from my MacBook, but able to send from the Handy app on my phone or iPad which are all on the same wifi network. Any tips to get this fixed to print from my laptop again?
Hey, I’ve had similar issues with my printers in the past, so I might be able to help. Here are a few things you can try:
Wi-Fi Connection:
Make sure your printers are getting a strong and stable Wi-Fi signal. If the signal is weak, downloads can time out or crawl. I moved my printer closer to the router, and it helped a lot.
Firmware & Software Updates:
Check if your printers and Bambu Studio are on the latest version. Sometimes these slowdowns are due to bugs that get fixed in updates. You can usually find the update option in the settings menu of the printer or Bambu Studio.
Cloud Connection:
Bambu Lab uses cloud servers for transferring files, so if there’s a hiccup on their end, downloads can slow down or fail. I’d check their forums or social media to see if they’ve reported any server issues recently. Logging out and back into Bambu Studio has worked for me before, too.
Local File Transfers:
As a workaround, try using an SD card or USB to upload the files directly to the printers. It’s a bit old-school, but it avoids all the network stuff.
Router or Network Issues:
If you’ve got a firewall or other security settings on your router, they could be messing with the connection to the Bambu servers. Double-check that nothing’s being blocked.
A1 user here, just started experiencing this. Replacing the SD card helped immediately.
(I was using the SD card that came with the printer, but it seems like it crapped out after about a week of usage…)
I’m running a P1/S and Bambu Studio 1.10.1.50 (pre-firmware update).
To add to the advice from @owoce, I’d tried everything previously noted above, including rebooting my laptop, rebooting the router, full Bambu Studio Network tests, force stopping the Bambu Handy mobile app, clearing the cache etc, but nothing worked. Last thing, I removed the original SD card and inserted a newly formatted (FAT32) 32GB SD Card, then sent the print and it flew. About 3-5 secs to download. Tried a 2nd print later on with the same results.
Note: When I inserted the new SD Card into the P1/S, Bambu Studio > Device > MicroSD Card stated “File does not exist. [10]”. So I ignored this and sent the print anyway and badabing, it just ran fine, no issues and has continued to do so.
I’ve been having exactly the same issues - spent hours trying to troubleshoot as my P1S has been faultless (12 months) until now. I ran the Network test a few times and the problem has gone away - no idea how or why ???
