What could be the culprit of these crazy pronounced bumps my P1P has decided to make for the last week? These only happen on longer surfaces and I don’t know what causes them. Tried belt tensioning, cleaning rails, and nozzle replacement. Printing Polymaker PLA at 230C (does the same at 220C) on stock Bambu PLA settings.
Did you check for a clogged extruder as part of the nozzle replacement?
The print looks detached from the bed and warped, I think it lifted during print.
While this print specifically warped around the edges, it will begin to print like this from the very first layer.
I’m going to be taking the extruder out today so hopefully I find something wrong with it or else I won’t know what to do!
I don’t think this is an extruder problem. Have you tried a different filament? Are you using the default filament profiles?
Yes, trying stock profiles. Have been for months. I will try using PETG as a last fix attempt but I just really can’t see the PLA I’m using being the problem. It prints on the ender 3s I have just fine.
Finally fixed the issue, for some reason re-installing Bambu Studio and switching the SD card made it stop doing that. Not really sure how to justify that working but I’ll take it either way.
Sounds like a setting got changed in the slicer or a corrupt SD card.
I had the same problem but for me it turned out to be the extruder motor. check if you see some filings on the motor gear and if it turns smoothly. my part looked super nice and right in the middle of the part it just turned ugly. the motor was pushing sometimes and sometimes it just didn’t get anything out. 70 dollars later changing the extruder and nozzle found that out.
I’m testing filament (generic v BL v “High Speed”) and I’ve come across an artifact that looks like that. I don’t do full bed prints much but I do multiple objects (~100mm +/- each) that do fill most of the bed. Note here that the big fan’s mounted on the left.
I found that with generic filaments the objects whose airflow from that fan is most obstructed uniformly produce that print defect. Both BL and “High Speed”) have not exhibited that to date, but there are some artifacts in the outer wall that aren’t happy.
I’m curious if a second fan on the right would cure this for generic. Not sure.
What led you to finding out the stepper motor was the issue? I may be down the same path. As im already down $60 trying new hot ends and assemlies.
