Extrusion Issues with P1P

Hi. I’m hoping someone could help me out with this issue. My P1P all of a sudden stopped extruding towards the end of a print. The filament isn’t coming out consistently and it seems to come out then stop then come out again, then slowly like it’s dragging and stops, even though it continues moving like it’s printing. Now, when I pushed the filament from the back, it comes out fine and even. Checked for clog in hotend. No clog. Did a cold pull anyway, nothing came out. Cleaned the nozzle and checked again. Checked for pieces of filament in the extruder, no clog, no filament pieces. Replaced hot end just to make sure, same issue. Not resolved. Changed out the boden tube, not it. Checked all the wires in front and back of the extruder and re-plugged everything in again, nothing works. I checked the yellow wheel, it spins while pulling filament. I changed filaments to see if it was the filament, no change. I am at a complete loss on what to do. Please help!

Did you actually pull apart the extruder? It’s possible to have a small piece stuck in between the gear and idler, which can’t be seen and yet will stop the filament from going through. But usually when this happens the gear will chatter as the extruder motor skips. I’ve also seen instances on here where the extruder motor has failed early.

Try to observe it when it happens so you can narrow the scope. When it starts extruding poorly, see what you can do to change that. if you physically push the filament into the tube, does it come out more reliably? is the PTFE tube connector adding resistance? does it work better if you increase the temperature? and if you can get it to start extruding normally, does it go back to extruding poorly when you stop? how long is it good for?
