Factory settings/stringing/retraction

Hi,

Probably stupid question , but could someone confirm if I use factory settings will I lose all my retraction settings, as I have prints that has stringing which I have not got with my P1S?You can see that closer to the top of right corner quite easily, but stringing was from both sides etc. Thanks for help.

IMO There’s never a stupid question in regards to 3D Printing, only stupid questions are the ones that are never asked.

But to address your concern, I’d suggest creating a [Printer Profile] with stock settings then another for [custom profile] in which you’d adjust retraction and other parameters.

For example since we utilize a dozen of these printers at once we have profiles for each printer plus nozzle sizes. So say we have 3 printers, (1 X1C & 2 P1P’s) we have 3 stock .4mm nozzle profiles and settings then i have (0.4mm Nozzle Remix - X1C #1) and those settings have changed retraction and so on but when it comes to filaments I’ve noticed each will be different along with the ambient setting surrounding the printer (temps, humidity, etc) and typically use the override within a filament profile to control retraction.

Retraction in my uses has never gone past 2.0mm and if it does I’ve had issues. Most of my 50 filament profiles is in between 1.2mm - 2.2mm

Hope this helps some

Thank you for your help. Will have to sort out some point
