Failed AMS Print

Tried my first multi color print: Lid was clear PLA and body Green PETG.

Printer would print the first layer, but state the filament got stuck when going to second layer. Did this several times.

Anyone having issue printing like this?

Note - generic PLA and PETG at the moment.

So it was switching between PLA and PETG?

PLA and PETG have different printing temps. That could be an issue.

PLA and PETG in one object?
I have doubts that this will work. Because, as @DerEd already noted, the two have completely different print parameters. I always use PETG as a support filament when I need something in PLA prints. It comes off the PLA perfectly, and leaves clean surfaces. And it is also cheaper than support filament.

Printing PLA with PETG for supports works pretty good. Printing PETG with PLA supports can be a bit trickier. The PETG does not stick to the PLA very well, and with a print that has minimal contact area with the build plate, like this print, parts being supported by PLA kept getting knocked loose. Failure after failure. Even running at really low speeds. Finally just gave up and printed with PETG throughout.

I know it’s possible to do this successfully, but it’s a little more challenging a problem to solve than it might seem to be at the outset.

Yes but I had the temps set correctly for each filament

No - just on the same bed. One object was PLA and the other PETG
