Failed LEDs in litophane kits

Today I received my spares order of a hot end, filament and 2off Lithophane light kits. Upon checking of the 8 panels I found that 3 had failed LEDs. Is this unusual or typical?
I have raised a support ticket and given how they responded to a previous ticket (non related) I expect that I will get replacement panels.
Just asking the question for interest.
Thanks
Simon

Are you talking the original 4x6 (approximately) panels or the half-width ones?

I’ve been through 10 of the full LED panels so far and no dead LEDs if that helps.

I’ve used 2 of the big ones & they were fine.

I had a feeling I was just unlucky. Look like I was right.

If you are using the LED panels with the Bambu Labs frame that’s on MakerWorld for lithophanes, that can have an issue when sliding the panel into frame knocking LEDs loose.

Are you testing the panels before trying to install? If you are having issues with the frame knocking off LEDs, there’s frames on MakerWorld that don’t have you sliding a panel into a very narrow thickness slot.

I tried each panel before any assemble. But I will bare your comme nt in mind when assembling.

I just mentioned that slot thing as I noticed you had to be careful when slipping the light board into place on the Bambu frame. I made a few prints of it and then decided to roll my own to get past the issues. Here it is if any interest.

just to add, I’ve been through about 20 and no dead ones.

I have a large one and it’s working fine. Maybe yours were damaged during the transport or you are just not lucky and received a bad batch.

Do the dead ones light up if you press on them?

This time of year that’s a loaded question.
