Failed to download the plug-in. Please check your firewall

I receive this error message as I tried to upgrade BambuStudio to 1.4.0.17. It refuses to install the network plug-in. But I don’t have an active firewall or VPN running.
An open network test from the menu shows this:

Any known solution to this?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, after deinstalling and downgrading to 1.3.XX it works for that version. Upgrading again, however, gets the same error.
So I’m currently again on 1.3.01.01

after downloading the 1.4.0.17 did you unblock the .exe file? (right click - properties)

I did that now (wonder why it wasn’t necessary for the other versions), however, it did not fix my problem.

I’m in the same situation. I can not install the Network-Plugin. I have no anti-virus installed. I turned off the firewall, and I can’t download the network plugin. Is there a separate link available for the plugin?

there is a known issue to download it on windows 7/8

Ok. Issue confirmed here. I’m on Win 7.
Fix from github worked
