Problem: Getting Failure to extrude on my P1S with AMS.
Am getting it from all slots on AMS, but it works fine using external spool. Can duplicate with just using the AMS load filament feature. Printer setup has been the same for months and was working fine. But this is new last week.
Things I have tried.
Cold pull filament.
Hand fed filament through buffer through extruder and it worked fine, didn’t feel any restrictions.
Took apart hot end, and did the cold pull with hot allen key.
Observations:
When loading filament from AMS
Filamanet gets all the way down to extruder, and doesn’t seem to enter extruder, but then pulls it all out,
and tries multiple times before throwing error.
It is possible that AMS sounds more loaded pushing the filament in. but can’t be sure what it sounded like before.
Sure the hotend is properly aligned?
If it goes all the way to the hotend that isn’t much left to stop it…
And well, with the feeding from external working it can’t a filament sensor issue either.
What about that ‘coupler’ half way down ?
Is the spring moving when the filament reaches the hotend?
Not sure but if that bit is messed up the AMS might be unable to recognies the filament reached the hotend.
The pressure feedback comes from this this if I am not mistaken.
Wiggle the cable a bit or swap it, if in doubt see if the thing has service/cleaning wiki.
I am having the same issue, worked perfectly for months then failed near the end of a six hour print. Kept failing now will go through the print motions with no filament extruding.
