Failed to pull out the filament from extruder

Printer model: P1S + AMS
Filament used: PLA Silk+, PLA BASIC and PET G.
Before that, everything is ok.

Since 4 days ago, I keep getting an error message from my printer:

“Failed to pull out the filament from the extruder. This might be caused by clogged extruder or filament broken inside the extruder (0700-8003 190810)”

The print will stop at 99% (Note: the print has completed) but just refused to end at 100%. It will then follow by the error message as shown above. In order to solve the following, i will need to dismantle everything:

  1. open the cover - unplug the cover fan
  2. unscrew the nozzle and unplug the 2 (pin plugs)
  3. unscrew the extruder (3 screws) make sure all clear.

Take note: till this stage, there is no broken filament or cracked filament in the nozzle or the extruder. I will then pull out the PTFE tube from the extruder and push in 1 filament to ensure it can reach the AMS. Unplug the PTFE tube at the back of AMS. unscrew the 2 screws at the AMS, remove the AMS holder to expose the wiring. unplug the 2 wires and make sure the AMS motor filament feeding is clear.

Plug everything back.

Till this stage, i will click print and the printer will start printing. Once it reaches 99%, the above issue repeats again and i need to repeat the above cycyle in order to print again. I screw and unscrew, dismantle and assemble back again till i can become a specialist ( :grimacing:)

This machine is only 2 months old and i am not sure if i should send back for checking or does anyone has any idea what happen that i can solve this once and for all?

I have the same issue, also since around one week. It does not happen at all prints, but mostly. As you said, there is no real error, so I used to cancel the print at 99% and continue with the next one. The other option is to remove the ptfe which is directing into the printer (I have a 4-in1-hub here), which seems to trigger a signal there is no tension anymore and than the filament will be pulled back into AMS. Quite annoying.

I cannot accept that. I need to get it settled. Good for you that you only need to cancel the print and print the next one. For me there is an additional step after cancelling the print at 99%, I will need to dismantle everything. Is really very very very tiring.

Do you put spool on the right slot?

I doubt that’s the reason but since you pointed out, i will try later. Thanks.

Check your cutter. If it’s not cutting, it looks like a failure at 99.99% for single color prints, and gets really obvious when every change fails during multicolor

Questions here, where is the filament end at when you get the error? still at the extruder? At the buffer? Somewhere between the extruder and the AMS? …?

Same thing happening to me, stuck at the extruder and I can hear the ams making noise but no joy. happend yesterday for the first time, took everything apart, removed a piece of filament from the gears?, put back together with a new extruder and samething happens again.
