why does slicing fail when i use a Bambu printer,
but when i choose an other vendor it succeeds?
What are the dimensions of that model?
It looks tiny, possibly too small to be printed with confidence.
I would only be guessing why other vendors would give it a go. You don’t say if you use other software when printing to other printers.
You may try turning on Arachne wall generator and see if that fixes it.
You could also try a 0.2mm nozzle or 0.4mm nozzle with a thinner layer height.
You have options.
I’ve gotten errors like that if an object isn’t sitting directly on the plate or is extended through the plate. Use the Auto-Orient, Move or Lay on Face buttons at the top of the slicer. Some slicers auto correct this problem, but it looks like BL doesn’t.
its about 8mm diameter.
unfortunately i cant upload stls.
Oddly enough when i choose an anycubic or creality printer in bambu studio itself it works. but not on bambus a1 mini or x1c…
auto-orient and flipping didn’t work either nor did support help.
using a raft did help, but its weird that it only applies to bambu printers.
I recently has some parts with very thin walls. I had lower my wall count and turn on detect thin wall for them to slice. You might try this.
What thickness are the walls?
Does the model sit flat to the base?
i uploaded the stl here:
Try to use a service that respects GDPR and doesn’t require the user to manually uncheck all the “consents” in a tiny frame at the bottom of the page for ten minutes!
Use https://WeTransfer.com as one example.
OK, your tube is TINY. 5.8x5.8x24.8 with a 0.2mm wall. If you wonder what your problem is, it is exactly as I said previously it is too tiny to be safely printed.
I suspect the reason is the model is just too much below the acceptable limits for what Bambu knows their printers should try. I doubt they care as much for other vendors.
I have a solution for you though.
- Use a primitive cylinder
- Change the dimensions to that of your tube.
- Enable vase mode
- Turn off the top and bottom layers
- Make sure the brim option is not disabled
To save you time and I wanted to make sure it worked, here is one I made earlier (as they say on those cooking shows).
I can’t look at the file on my mobile, but I think I had something similar:
- Wall of the 3d model was very thin
- It was connected properly with the build plate before slicing
- But the model had a fillet or chamfer at the bottom which turned out too thin to be printed
- The slicer algorithm therefore removed the first layer
- And voila the model was in mid air but only Post-Alice
What happens if you keep the bambulab printer, but slice with a 0.2 nozzle? If my explanation is the cause, the error should go away.
To print the model with the default nozzle, you would need to change the model, or maybe you can work around this by changing the slicer settings (Arachne, First Layer Expansion, …)
