Hi folks.
I am new to 3D printing Community since yesterday.
Please forgive my inexperience
We have one at work(X1E) but I haven’t had many points of contact with it so far. But I thought it was cool and wanted one too. I got it yesterday. An X1C.
Unpacked everything and started the first print. It worked like a charm. Let it cool down and then removed the part. However, some fan didn’t turn off after the print.
I thought it would need a little while until everything was back to normal temperature… Apparently not. Even 30 minutes after… the fan was still running.
The display said that all fans were switched off. But I could still hear something. I can only solve the problem by switching the printer off once (disconnecting it from the power supply) and then switching it on again. It is then “quiet” until the next print
I think the noise comes from the back left, where you can screw on the spool holder.
I cant add a Video because its in.mp4 format. ill try to convert and upload it.
Maybe Someone has an idea to fix this? This is super annoying and loud.
Edit:
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find much about this topic so far
Thanks for any help.
Which fans remain active continuously? Some fans will continue running until the printer returns to idle, but the auxiliary and part-cooling fans should stop once the print completes. The chamber fan can be configured to remain on after a job finishes; if this setting is enabled, it will not shut down automatically.
What material were you printing? If you’ve enabled enhanced fan settings, certain materials will keep the chamber fan running post-print to purge any harmful fumes from the build chamber.
You also mentioned hearing a fan noise just behind your X1 Carbon’s external spool holder—if I understand correctly, this is actually the small 30 × 30 mm MC-board (main controller) cooling fan, mounted on the controller heatsink just inside the left-rear panel (where the spool-holder bracket attaches when viewed from the front). It runs continuously whenever the printer is powered on (to prevent the electronics from overheating) and isn’t controlled by the Studio “Fan” menu, so it won’t shut off after a print completes.
I can only see two fans.
One is the fan that is mounted on the left in the installation space and is aimed at the plate and the fan on the print head. I can’t see any more fans, probably because they are behind a cover or in the housing.
As soon as the printer goes into idle mode, the two fans mentioned above go out.
But there is still a fan running until I switch the printer off.
I have just printed another part and left it on for an hour. There is still a fan running.
Where can I make this setting with the chamber?
I print in PLA, PLA BASIC from Bambu
Ahh then it will be this fan… it’s so brutally loud. I made a video once. As I can’t upload it here, I uploaded it to the cloud.
Dropbox Cloud
The video shows the printer about 30 minutes after the print job has finished. That’s not normal?! The printer at work definitely doesn’t do that.
I believe it’s the MC (controller board) fan. On my printer it runs whenever the machine is powered on (and not in Sleep mode), then shuts off once the printer goes to sleep after a few minutes. I haven’t really paid attention to its noise level myself, so I can’t say whether yours is typical or not.
I have opened a ticket with Bambu. A work colleague I showed the video to said his (he has the same one) is definitely much quieter. And he also said that it is the fan from the mainboard which is not shown in the fan control on the display.
I’m excited to see what Bambu has to say
It’s difficult to determine from your clip whether my fans are louder, so I can’t say if your noise level is normal or not.
If the fan is damaged, the support team will likely send you a replacement.
However, please note that the fan may run louder if your environment is warmer than usual.
Keep us updated.
So guys,
I had opened a ticket with Mabmu.
I got a new fan, installed it and now the noise is no longer so extreme.
Also, the fan no longer runs forever. After 10-15 minutes of cooling after the MC Board the fan shut down. Just as I know it from the printer at work. So I claim the problem has been solved.
