Fantastic Customer Support, Wham Bam

I wanna share something. We often share bad customer service and of course we should. There are times a company needs to be called out for leaving customers in the dark. Ahem…if you know you know.

However I want to share what I feel is fantastic service. I’m not new to printing and I can overcome most obstacles. Recently I hit one that frustrated me, making me lash out at the “cause” of that frustration.

I purchased the Wham Bam Carbon Fiber plate because I wanted One Plate To Rule Them All. I had watched a preview of the plate on Teaching Tech and thought enough of it to preorder.

My thinking was that this plate handles PETG, ABS, PLA…you know, everything. No more multiple plates for different filaments.

So when I got it, first one or two prints did very well. The rest not so much. Not going into settings and what I did to fix it, that’s not what this is about.

Angry after two or three days of trying to get anything to stick to it, or stay stuck to it I had enough. Under the influence of frustration I sent Wham Bam an email asking, no demanding my money back. Listed all I’d done in a totally mature and totally not petulant childlike way to solve my problem and let it rip.

Today, earlier, I recieved an email from Mr Peter Solomon offering my money back, or half, but would I be willing to try and solve this issue with his help. Mr. Solomon is the founder of Wham Bam Systems LLC.

Hmm, the founder, big cheese, head honcho, emailing me directly about the issue I have? C’mon, really?

Yes. Not only did he reach out, he has offered advice and asked for test prints to narrow down what is happening on my plate. So far may have found the solution to one filament, and hopefully that will translate to the others.

So the point here is that I’m amazed. I know they have more than just him hanging around to help do things. I’ve seen them in vids. I know he had better things to do than help one old man get his ■■■■ straight. Could have just said “no” or sent me a refund and wiped his hands.

Instead in a long email chain (so far) he’s working with me to get this done. I want to keep the plate. He’s been understanding and I can’t thank him enough.

It’s nice to have a company that takes even one disgruntled ***hat like me seriously and puts real effort into service.

So yeah, buy their stuff. Solid service, solid products. The PEX plate is really great, the Slap Mats are great too if you do resin or just as a work surface. Check out the Carbon Plate and check in on Teaching Tech’s vid.

Thanks for your time. Seriously, go check it out.

Thanks for sharing that. It’s good to know that there are some companies and company owners who still value customers and their reputation… unlike a certain other company we know of…

When Bambu had their A1 power cord issue, many fanboys and influencers fell all over themselves for them stepping up. But those of us who were watching knew that they only did so once the public eye of Sauron through the lenses of social media was upon them.

Your story and the behavior that he founder of Wham Bam’s action speaks volumes to their credibility… unlike another company we know… He had no way of knowing you would go public with this story and appears to have had no strings attached other than wanting to find out personally why his product didn’t perform. That’s the strength of a founder. Maybe their products are great, maybe not so great, but they obviously are willing to stand behind them.

As many have said, integrity is not what you do when the news cameras are rolling but what you do when nobody but you knows what you’ve done.

I’d give you two “claps” if I could.
See your walls of text I like.

Peter’s a really good guy. Just one example, back in 2020 when I was printing face shields he was very generous in supporting that effort. My interactions with him go back around 10 years to my MakerGear M2 and he’s always been great.
