Faster Shipping Options Needed

We, like many, are using multiple Bambu X1’s for our business in the US.

I resisted using Bambu filament for quite a while because supply seemed spotty, it was overpriced, and the fulfillment options were not appealing.

Two of those things have been mostly remedied - lower costs with subscriptions, and somewhat better supply reliability.

The last is speed. For filament and replacement parts we NEED faster shipping options.

I beg you.

Anyone else?

So riddle me this? If they have poorer options, lower standards of customer service and higher costs? Why buy there product at all unless your opting for the AMS RF ID tag automation feature? In that case, after a few spools you should have enough spare RF ID tags to use as your own Spool foundry.

Bambu actually did me a favor by being frequently stocked-out of the most common filaments such as PLA Black. It forced me to go out against my better judgement and seek alternates. And guess what? The world did not end.:scream: In fact, what I have learned in this time is that Bambu’s product in the area of PETG for example, is inferior to many of the other products I’ve used from other sources.

Now having said that, I am just a hobbyist. But as someone who has been in manufacturing and distribution for years, I can’t conceive of a business case as to why one wouldn’t create a supply chain database of filament suppliers if I were in the printing business. I mean hell… I do it now as a hobby with a simple spreadsheet where I keep track of first-box-open-experience and other performance parameters such as cost per OZ. That’s why I can emphatically say that Bambu is no deal by any stretch of the imagination. Unless of course, you like to pay 20%-40% more for the same product.

But having said that… they do have nice spools.

For the RF-ID tags, do you change their settings to whatever filament you are using it for? I just assumed they would only be recognized as the particular Bambu filament.

This is absolutely true. However, does it matter? If one can remember that all an RF ID tag is, is a serial number or “License Plate” does it matter so long as one has the appropriate tuning correctly in the filament profile.

So as an example, let’s put AMS aside for discussion purposes. If I were to take a Bambu PETG profile and then use that as a Template to tune for let’s say PC, does the printer have any way of knowing that I lied to it? All it knows is that when it sees that tag, it should use the profile assigned to it.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about AMS since I don’t have one and I’m not sure I can use one. So if my theory is borne out of naivety, please correct my thinking.
