Feature Req: Adjust automatic cooling

I posted this on Bambu Studio Github, and out of the blue it occurs to me that this wouldn’t be controlled through the slicer, so posting it here.

I assume this may be true for the entire H2 family, my only experience is with an H2S.

When printing a filament that does not require a heated chamber, the machine will enable the exhaust fan as necessary to keep the temperature in the chamber from rising too high. This appear to happens when the chamber hits 35c. For PLA at least, it may be different for PETG

The issue, in thermostat terms, is that there is no differential or swing value. The ambient temperature in my home office is cool and that causes the exhaust fan to go from off to on back to back multiple times, opening the top vent and the rear as well each time. At first I found it funny, but the more it happens it has become a nuisance. The noise of the vents opening and closing is very distracting if you are in the same room and loud enough for someone on the phone to hear and ask what the noise is.

If there were a differential, I originally thought a fraction of a degree but since this occurs for materials that do not require a heated chamber, the swing could be a value of 2-3 C which I wouldn’t expect to effect the print (and really, even a “heated chamber material” the printer will start printing before fully heated and that isn’t effecting those more sensitive filaments), then it could turn on at 35, but then not off until 32. This at least gives some time between when it activates and then only has one action until it his the low temperature swing setting – so occurring less often and less noise per occurrence.

You can set it via the custom gcode, albeit I agree that it’s annoying

All I saw was options to set the fan speed when it hits a specific temp

M142 P1 R30 S40 T45 U0.3 V0.5 W0.8 O45

… but nothing to indicate how much to cool it down before stopping

To my opinion they could keep the vents open, and just simply modulate the fan speed (up to a given maximum) based on the inside temperature.

The continuous opening and closing gives unnecessary wear on the parts also.
