It would be nice to be able to use the external spool and the AMS in the same print. For example I was printing a design that really needed 5 colors in a logo. It would have been nice to be able to let the AMS take care of 4 colors and then have the printer ask for a manual load for the 5th (or 6th, 7th, etc.) color. The only way I could do it currently was to make all 5 filaments load manually from the spool holder and making me babysit the entire print.
Another use case I have is when you might want to print an object that has some TPU layers in certain areas. Similarly the only way I can do this now is to make all filaments load manually.
I think this could be easily solved by adding a selection to assign colors to the external spool while still enabling the AMS for others here as in this basic example.
