Due to the fundamental design of the H2C, prints that combine higher chamber temperatures with lower temperature filaments being printed by the induction nozzles will sometimes get into a cycle of pausing the print for a heat creep error. Users can dismiss this message and the print will usually resume without issue, however this heat creep and the need to address it mid-print is likely due to uncontrolled heat creep being major contributor to induction nozzle clogs.
The current 1.02.00 firmware strategy of throwing an error and pausing the print is unnecessary and disruptive, and the H2C already has a better answer implemented elsewhere.
As discussed in this thread, the H2C will stop during a nozzle + filament change if the AMS2 temperature is too high - likely to reduce the chances of some sort of feed problem - and continue once the temperature has dropped sufficiently. I believe this solution could be implemented here as well, rather than throwing and error and pausing the print the printer could move back to the purge waste chute, remove induction heating, and run the nozzle cooling fan to bring the heatbrake temperature back down to normal levels, then heat the induction hotend back up and resume the print.
While this has the potential to add some time to longer prints, it will allow the printer to manage the situation and continue rather than pausing the print until a person manually resumes it, especially as the issue will typically come up multiple times on prints that contain the right conditions for it to happen.
I’d like to recognize @ericrsoldan ‘s thread and suggestion that this could be addressed by a nozzle swap, as discussed here. While it would work better than what I’m suggesting in some situations, it ultimately requires an identical nozzle to be available for swapping and may cause some complication with nozzle offsets, which is why I began searching for an alternative solution.
