So I’m planning to pick up a few of the 011 clock kits to make a few gifts and went out searching for a generic clock face to build off of and it hit me. Why couldn’t or isn’t there a basic template built into the Make My Sign tool? Seems simple right? I’m sure I could knock something out myself if I took the time but a quick pick option seems like it could be a handy option.
I’m also referring to a round face not the little desk style promo.
Surely this is true of every design if you take it far enough.
A door hanger is ubiquitous with the message and possible logo changing.
A sign is a sign, a background with words.
A clock face isn’t a generic thing like the two examples above. There are so many permutations that having hands is the only common factor and even then, the length, style and number of those hands is also an important part of the design.
I recommend you utilise your skills to make the perfect-looking gifts for whomever you are gifting them. Provide the design flair that makes them personal.
Hmmm true but I can still see a simple round template that has the correct provisions for mounting the kit could be useful and it could help sell more kits if it was considered. Scrolling through various platforms trying to find a minimalistic starting point I saw some pretty basic uploads that were not much than what could be done with the MMS features already offered.
and I figured I’d have to make this myself anyways as I don’t see it being a groundbreaking idea that would get immediate implementation. but i’ll have to wait till I have some kits on hand first.
OK I made one. Feel free to download it here. It’s a f3d file, if you want a different format I can do that too. Note that it has tolerances, I think, but I have yet to test it as I also have no clock mechanisms. The dimensions were taken from the MW provided clock model. I just measured all of those dimensions. Hope this helps
