Many different filaments have different requirements, which users must remember or write down.
Therefore, it would be very helpful if there was a fifth tab in the filament settings where you simply have a comment field.
So you could make notes to the respective filament.
I think this is one of the easiest features to implement and it would help many people to keep all the additional information about some filaments without having to reach for a pen and paper.
What requirements you are refering to? Are those related to setting of the filament (e.g. bed temp, max volumetric flow etc?). If those are the cases - you can dial in those settings and save it under a new preset name - preferable using the brand/color of the filament.
If there are particular printing settings required - create a new profile and name it appropriate.
@froboz
Yes, that would be a possibility, although a messy emergency solution. I would find a seperates field more elegant.
@Wylarzel
I know that I can create new filament profiles and that’s why I would like to have this function.
If I only buy Bambu filament and only use the Bambu settings would be nonsense.
I would put general information there like:
Maximum and minimum print speed and its effect on the quality.
Print bed adhesion which additional measures are useful
etc.
Surely the people who have been doing 3D printing for a small eternity have all this in their heads.
But I, for example, have not been doing 3D printing for so long and still have to try out a lot of the filaments or look for the information together.
And I would like to write this information about the respective filament in a comment field.
I think that could help many “new” users, if they can make notes on exactly this filament.
I for one would appreciate the idea of having a section for notes per filament, just like PrusaSlicer does. I very much like to keep notes on changes i made to the settings for a particular filament. It is a good idea to add this feature to BambuSlicer.
Strongly agree. I’ve been using this feature on other slicers for years and it saves significant time when choosing the best preset for different applications and filaments. Perhaps easiest added to the bottom of the “Others” tab.
I would also suggest adding Comments to the Printer and Process user presets
