[Feature Request] don’t open a new instance when opening 3MF files

I use 3MF format a lot but currently when opening them directly from fusion 360 it opens an instance per 3MF file, instead of adding the models to the current instance.

If I do this with STL it works fine, but not with 3MF, and il rather use 3MF format.

The workaround of exporting the file and then importing one by one seems that can be improved.

Hi, i am new in the Bambu Lab community, i recently ordered mine, a X1C and am waiting for it’s delivery.
So far i worked only with a Prusa Mk3s and Prusaslicer at work.

But i am already looking in to the Bambu Studio app, to get used on working with it.

I am also missing the feature to send all my 3D models to the same instance of the app, in Prusaslicer you can activate the feature “allow just a single PrusaSlicer instance” in the preferences.

I would highly apperciate to have this feature in Bambu Studio.

Thank you

Hi, I just ran into the same issue of BS opening a new instance for every body I sent over from Fusion 360 via the print utility tool. I hadn’t printed something in a while and also had upgraded to BS 1.9.7.52. But I was pretty sure I was able to send several bodies to BS from Fusion before (one after the other).

After reading this thread I looked into the settings of BS.

The first checkmark there is labeled “keep only one BS instance”. Checking that solved the problem for me.

BS will ask you if you want to “open as project” or “import geometry only” when you send the second parts. Select the latter if you want to add to your current project.

Not sure if this solves the original problem, but I found it extremely helpful to get my workflow back. So I wanted to share. (I have shared this in other threads since I was so happy to finally fix my workflow)
