it would be really nice to have family members with their own accounts under a master family account where they could share collections and models. currently my wife lgos in as me and adds stuff she wants to our collection which means she has to call me for the mfa code each time.

I have my account logged in on multiple devices - why not just stay logged in on her device?
Anyhow, this is just a variation of the common request “let multiple users share a single printer”, and Bambu is not interested in going down this road. They’ve been pretty clear on “Each printer is owned and controlled by one account” in the past, I don’t see that changing now. Sharing a printer among many people ultimately results in higher utilization pet unit and reduces the incentive to buy more printers.
That said, family accounts would align with the whole “home manufacturing hub” and “3D printing for the whole family” marketing angle, but I can’t think of a solution to family access that doesn’t also open up their printers to just be shared among large groups of people who aren’t at all affiliated.
