Feature Request - Filament for infill/ inner walls vs outer walls

I would love if we could specify a different filament for infill and/or inside walls then what we are using for the outer wall. I have made a couple of models in fusion 360 to get this effect and it looks really cool with a color behind white or translucent filaments. If the slicer could do this for me that would be amazing. Also it is a good way in a multicolor print to save some of my expensive filaments and infill with stuff I want to get rid of. Thanks!

This still needs to happen. Please

Agree, has this been done or not possible?

I’d imagine the effect would be interesting but the downside would be a filament swap at every layer. The alternative is to go thin on your walls and/or use translucent material.

Bumping this thread because with the H2D this has become a really interesting option again. Just imagining the different material combinations that would be possible:

black inner walls PLA - white outer wall PLA - could prevent light bleeding through

red inner walls PLA - transparent yellow outer wall PLA - orange candle effect

so much more…
