I would love if we could specify a different filament for infill and/or inside walls then what we are using for the outer wall. I have made a couple of models in fusion 360 to get this effect and it looks really cool with a color behind white or translucent filaments. If the slicer could do this for me that would be amazing. Also it is a good way in a multicolor print to save some of my expensive filaments and infill with stuff I want to get rid of. Thanks!

Agree, has this been done or not possible?
I’d imagine the effect would be interesting but the downside would be a filament swap at every layer. The alternative is to go thin on your walls and/or use translucent material.
Bumping this thread because with the H2D this has become a really interesting option again. Just imagining the different material combinations that would be possible:
black inner walls PLA - white outer wall PLA - could prevent light bleeding through
red inner walls PLA - transparent yellow outer wall PLA - orange candle effect
so much more…
