Having AMS units with multi-colors loaded would be great if you could have the system change colors without purging so you have a multi-color print just like when you use a multi-color filament. The options should allow for random where the system decides which colors and how often they are swapped and then the manual version that allows you to select the colors and then the transition length of the filament so you can print and make your custom multi-color filament with each print job.

It’s a nice idea and there are some YouTube video that have done this in DIY fashion by stringing together feeds using some custom PTFE tubing configurations with volcano nozzles. But we are talking some real high-school science projects here. But… if you like to tinker, this is exactly the kind of thing that lends itself to a DIY homegrown solution.
