Feature Request: Localised anti-gravity bubble

I’m having trouble printing overhanging walls, even with supports, and I think what would solve this would be a localised anti-gravity bubble, within the printer. I know it would probably require a bigger power supply, but generating a bubble that isolates the build plate from gravitational force, would definitely fix my overhang problem.

You’d probably have to have some kind of lock on the door, as well, just to make sure children didn’t vaporise their hands, crossing the forcefield threshold, and to make sure the anti-gravity bubble doesn’t float away. I have a lot of design ideas to make sure it’s perfect, but really, just the anti-gravity bubble is the main thing.

Just watch your printer as it’s printing, and when you get to a layer with an overhang, before the printhead gets to that spot, quickly flip the printer upside down and then right side up again once the overhang area has been extruded. But note, how fast you rotate the printer is important. If you go too quick, the overhang will still be molten and it’ll just sag as normal and the flipping over won’t help.

I leave my printer on it’s side then all of the overhangs are vertical and mine prints vertical great.

I was thinking I could just blow on the part while flipping it for extra cooling, but I realised the hot air I’m full of, won’t help :slight_smile:

My next post will be asking how to make my entire print 100% overhangs. :slight_smile:
