Develop the successor to the A1 Mini as a highly portable, no-compromise mobile workstation tailored for craft show vendors, educators, and workshop attendees. The design language echoes the vintage “Singer Featherweight” philosophy—ultra-reliable, compact, flat-packing, and explicitly built for travel.

Target Price Point:
Under $300 for the standalone unit. This keeps the machine highly accessible for micro-businesses, hobbyists batch-printing at local craft fairs, and educators buying small fleets for classrooms.

Key Technical Enhancements:

  • Expanded Build Volume: Increase the current 180mm³ footprint to 200mm³ (+20mm per axis). This provides a 37% volume increase, allowing users to batch flatter product inserts and print single-piece durable items without expanding the physical desk footprint.
  • Background Material Priming: Inherit elements of upcoming multi-line/staged feeding mechanisms to slash color-to-color transition times down to the 5–11 second range for multi-material efficiency.
  • Mechanical Travel Safety: Implement a native, toolless mechanical lock (or quick-release pins) to safely immobilize the cantilever X/Z gantry and print bed during transit.
