Can we add a feature so that when I boost a model I can also rate it?
Right now I’ll go in and boost something add photo and comment but then have to do it again so I can also give that person a good rating. It’s extra work and kind of feels redundant.
100%, but you can boost without leaving a comment and just rate instead (not a perfect solution, but it’s decent)
You can boost without printing.
You can’t rate without printing.
OK, still lame that if I have printed something and want to rate and boost it at the same time I have to go through two flows. If I print something I like ideally I’d like the option to rate it and boost at the same time via one optional workflow. Otherwise it is duplicating effort as I prefer to include a photo and comment. Either without text or a photo are of limited value to others. Why make it harder? Anything that makes it easier and incentivizes folks to rate and boost should be a good thing. If system detects that I have printed something – I have a list of models to rate, why not have a button from there that lets me boost and rate at same time?
You can just boost and leave out the photo and comment part…
…this way it wouldn’t be “again”…
…because you’ll likely be out of boosts after a couple of prints as far as a weekly average is concerned. Then it becomes a question of “why do I have a boost option if I’m out of boosts”.
Also, they kind of want you to use the boosts for models that you appreciate, yet wouldn’t likely print due to their print time, additional parts on the BOM, etc. That way they want to incentivize designers of “more structurally complex” models to keep uploading their designs because they are not as likely to receive as many points from downloads/prints as people with 10-30g models that are easy to print. Boosts are supposed to make up for that.
Yep but not sure your argument holds a lot of water for me. If I wanted to boost something I didn’t or won’t print I can boost like that as it is – seems like that would not be the majority case for boosts. I would think most boosts are a way to than folks for great models you enjoyed printing or provide value.
Heck, the system knows how many boosts I have, so if I am out it doesn’t have to show me that option. I regularly have 5+ boosts, I go through my recent prints and rate and boost – so this would be a time saver for me.
I would think this fairly simple and easy to implement request would be a good thing for the community.
