Feature Requests for Creator Center

Now that we have a freshly rebranded Creator Center, I thought I would share some ideas that MakerWorld could implement and would like to hear what other designers would like to see in creator center. Thanks!

New Analytics:

  • New vs. Returning Users: Show whether the downloads and prints are coming from new users or returning users. This can help us understand the retention rate and the effectiveness of our designs in bringing back users.
  • User Journey Mapping: Provide insights into user behavior after they interact with a model (like, collect, download). For example, how often do users download after collecting, or what percentage of likes turn into downloads?

Current Analytics:

  • Update Points and Boosts to Stacked Chart: I believe many designers would prefer to just quickly glance through at how their totals are tracking compared to knowing the individual number of points for models and print profile downloads. Certainly keep the series colors the same, but just make it a stacked graph.

Good ideas. The new vs returning users would be helpful to know how much effort to creating models that would hit with current followers vs attracting new ones.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a means in which followers who downloaded and printed one of your models would get a more obvious notice when you add something new versus just the little red light. Or some way to interact with those who dowloaded and printed.

BTW Ozark - I uploaded my games to Etsy to see how they go and determine if I really want to get into the production side of things versus just designing. If things go well with the shop, I plan on getting a commercial membership to your Patreon and adding your games to the shop as well.

Thanks, I have a lot of thoughts about the follower’s experience. There have been several discussions on this, but basically on the web version, there is no page to view a feed of models from designers you follow. Right now, it’s only on the web experience and it’s ordered by date published, so it’s easy for me to miss a model I’d like to print, if another designer publishes several models back to back. Luckly I end up seeing them in the For You page, but there is a ton that the MW team can do with the follower experience.
