I’d love to see Nonplanar functions integrated into the Vase Editor. The current editor already handles nozzle size, layer height, flow, and build plate settings, which is perfect.
The idea would be to allow users to add nonplanar effects like vertical/horizontal shifts, sinusoidal waves, or other layered transformations, all via simple checkboxes or sliders. For reference, tools like Gerridaj Node Editor or Grasshopper in Rhino already allow this, but a simpler, more user-friendly version inside the Vase Editor would be ideal.
Additionally, adding SVG upload support for custom shapes would be amazing—users could easily create and print unique nonplanar designs.
An important benefit of this approach is that it could help prevent extreme collisions with the toolhead and nozzle during nonplanar printing. By managing Z-curve limits and knowing the safe heights in advance, the software could ensure the toolhead doesn’t crash into the part when moving down or across complex shapes.
All GCode generation could happen in the background, so no nodes or complex workflows would be needed.
This would make creative nonplanar printing much more accessible, safe, and intuitive for everyone.
