Feeding filament through buffer manually is tough

Anyone else notice how much resistance you get when feeding filament through the buffer manually?

I loaded up some siraya tech ppa-cf from the side spool holder and I really had to force it through when the filament reached the buffer. From the buffer all the way to the tool head.

Is this normal? Is yours tough like mine? It just seems very odd that there would be that much resistance.

disconnect the ptfe (on the buffer inside your machine) which is connecting to your toolhead then reconnect it properly, it’s likely not reaching deep in the buffer.

I’ll give it a shot when this temp tower finishes.

Disconnected and reconnected the ptfe tube inside, it was fully seated. I did replace the one going into the buffer from the outside though. That is where it seems to create the resistance. It’s like a mild s curve right there and I don’t think stiff filaments appreciate it being like that lol.

I ran filament through it and it’s definitely still tough getting it through the buffer. Once it’s through though it’s easier. I can see this section of ptfe tube being worn out quickly.

PPA-CF, PPS-CF, and several other filaments are not considered safe for use with the buffer system. These materials should be routed through the bypass port instead.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. You da man!
