I just reluctantly updated my P1S and Bambu Studio because a print I loaded said I need to. Well… Here I am… on the forum trying to figure out how to do something I’ve always been able to do, print something.
My printer is not there in Bambu Studio, and when I click the Device section it’s like a video of someone putting in an IP and a password. I dunno what’s happening. I click the wifi symbol by the printer, and then click “browse” nothing happens. If I click “create printer”… in the list of Vendors, there’s NO BAMBU LABS! What is a host type? What is an Octoprint (I don’t actually care if I don’t need to know)? The setting gear lets me select a Bambu P1S, but nothing happens. How do I get my IP? Is there a possible way for it to just find my printer like it always has? I can’t even setup a print offline as it stands because bambu studio only has “default setting”, “default filament”. What the heck is happening?
I just want to print a darn print.
Is your P1S bound (logged in)? Pick the 3rd icon down on the left (looks like a circle).
Yes, as is Bambu Studio. When I open Bambu Studio it gives me the setup wizard every time and I get an error that says failed loading configuration file suggesting clearing directory C:\Users\Appdata\Roaming\Bambustdio\system firstly, which doesn’t even exist (there’s no AppData folder).
The AppData folder is hidden by default in Windows. To view it, you need to enable the display of hidden files and folders in File Explorer. You can do this by navigating to the View tab, then Options, then Folder Options, and finally selecting “Show hidden files, folders, and drives”. Alternatively, you can type %AppData%
in the address bar of File Explorer and press Enter to access the Roaming subfolder.

I just reinstalled my previous version so I could get this print done. It seems like it’ll work still at least. I will try again when I’m not trying to get something done.
Yesterday I had what sounds like a similar problem. Sometime overnight my area had a significant local ISP (Spectrum) outage that lasted a couple of hours. This was like between 3am - 4am so found it when I woke up.
I ended up having to log out of printer, delete the BBL device on my phone and reconfigure all that. I had been having issues with the P1S camera not launching from Studio so about a week before I put an upgraded PCI-e Wi-fi and Bluetooth board in my PC and had to reconfigure that again.
I have a Netgear managed switch and it was also acting flaky with only half the lines chattering.
So cycled power on that too.
So not entirely sure if it was re-pairing the printer and Handy, getting the switch running correctly or what. But it is all back running.
Sure wish printer was ethernet capable.
