Hi,
I am new and so far I have only used Bambu Labs branded filament which with the membership prices is very good but I want to do some rainbow prints so I was wondering what brands to look for or which brands to avoid?
-
Tolerance needs to be +/- 0.05mm or less?
-
What printing speed to I need to look for?
-
I’m guessing eSUN are good as I see them mentioned everywhere
and random sounding names on ebay/amazon probably best avoided?
Thanks
Keep the acceptable tolerance below .03 because of the PTFE tubes and their necessity, otherwise skys the limit, just remember not all brands are created equally and not all reviews are real, also stay away from glitter filaments without changing to a .6 nozzle, otherwise it clogs and can make for a very bad day
Ok I’ll make a note of the 0.03 and I think I read that for some rainbow or glow in the dark filament a hardened steel nozzle is required.
I’ve just been browsing eSUN and SUNLU PLA and they generally say
- Printing Speed:30~90mm/s
- Movement Speed :90~150mm/s
Which is a lot lower than the standard settings for a BL printer, so do you slow it down or can the filament handle the higher BL speeds?
The PTFE-Tubes are 2mm. A tolerence of 0.05 IS still ok. Most Manufacturer get it down to 0.03mm or lower.
I Had No problems with 0,05mm with the P1S. And AMS
I ignore the speed-settings they post.
Do pressure advance anf flow calibration.
That should be enough.
But you will. It could be that you think you’ve navigated a +/-.05 bump and probably have not.
