Filament broken in extruder

My printer keeps giving me a message that the filament won’t load and then possible reason is that it is broken in the extruder. As a newbie I have no idea how to solve this problem, any ideas?

Step 1

First, it’s a lot easier to try a cold pull first. Heat up the nozzle(250c) from the front panel and pull the filament out manually. Or conversely if the filament is already out, try pushing as small amount of filament directly into the extruder without the Bowden tube. Again at 250c.

Step 2

If that doesn’t work, then I’d make sure that the nozzle isn’t clogged because it’s an easier swap. Have you tried to swap the nozzle first?

For the X1

For the P1P

Step 3

Last, if none of that works, here’s a detail video from Bambu that does a blow by blow of how to take about an extruder and remove a broken filament.

Good luck and let us know what worked.
